The Second Whorl
Drop the Bomb EP

...Life for Red Salamanda Records began in Prague back in late 2002. It wasn't until Spring 2003 that the first vinyl installment arrived, coming fresh of the press of a nearby vinyl pressing plant The debut release was from Oxford based outfit The Second Whorl, who delivered a funky ass track that got the Czech remix treatment from local beatnicks Zka4t and Dj Tall. Plus another broken rework from Prague based Awesome Wells and Kid Ringo. The funky vibes went down well with the likes of Mr Scruff, The Tru Thoughts family and Mary Anne Hobbs cementing some kind of future for Red Salamanda. A year passed before the next vinyl release...

Boris Carloff's Good Stuff EP arrived in June 2004 to a warm welcome right across the globe with the track 'First Joy' featuring twice on Gilles Peterson's Worldwide show and being the strong favorite from the EP turning up in many a discerning DJ's record box...

Then came the three year hiatus... cue the tumbleweed as a barren desert of no release, no cash flow continued for a while. Bringing us round to now. Well let’s just say we have them lined up and ready to go, some of which you can check out on our myspace page... not to mention some free download tracks coming your way.
First up is a track entitled LIFE from Kid Ringo and Ghetto Priest, which is out now on vinyl and soon on digital, featuring 4 different mixes... including a hot Boris Carloff Remix. After that comes the next eagerly awaited Boris Carloff EP a sample of which can be heard on Boris’ myspace page...

So there you have it folks the story so far... Hhhmmm not much of one but we hope that changes soon...
it’s not the quantity so they say...

Peace and ting
